Noooooooooooooooooooooo! > shakes fists in air...
Just as I was about to download the Dead Space 3 and MGS Rising demos, my PS3 turns on and makes a horrid beeping noise. After investigating and swapping over the HDD's, it turns out the HDD was beeping and is knackered. Just tried connecting it to the PC and it just beeps again and wont show up in Windows. Dead HDD
I had to copy the latest firmware (4.31 I think) to a USB stick and do a clean install on the new hard drive. In other words....everything......gone.
One glimmer of hope though!!!! If someone can help me, I had to do this operation a while ago when upgrading the original HDD to a bigger one. I did a backup of the PS3 and restored it the new HDD (the one that has just died).
Does anyone know if the file your PS3 creates when making a backup stays on the device (eg, external HDD) after completing a Restore? Or does it automatically delete the backup file from the device after the Restore?
If it remains on the device then there is a slim chance I still have that backup on my external HDD....which is at work damnit lol
All those save games lost
