Weird one this.

Got an hdmi to dvi-d cable today for my dell 2007wfp. It works fine, 720p max and all that.

Ok I thought I'd try out dvd's. They work fine but if I try and upscale them the picture becomes completely scrambled (with a nice pink colour).

Checked display info and it's still at 720p resolution.

If I turn on Picture in picture it displays fine as well, again still in 720p except theres a blue square on the screen for the composite/svideo which really isn't ideal.

I can live without upscaling just wondering why it doesn't work or rather sorta works.

Its been along time since ive connected the ps3 in this way, but I think the pink screen was related to the "BD / DVD Video Output Format (HDMI)" setting. RGB caused the pink screen (much like the green screen on rgb scart) and Y Pb / Cb Pr / Cr setting worked ok. Side effect was blacks are abit lighter in non rgb mode.. My monitor is the Benq FP240w. Have long since got a hdmi<->hdmi cable so all works nice in rgb mode.
