Ps3 hdmi pass through problems

Not sure if this should belong here or in home cinema section, anyway I've hooked up my ps3 super slim to my av receiver and it looks as though the audio and video signal keeps dropping as my screen goes blank and reappears showing the screen resolution info etc like I've turned the channel over, help! is there anything in the settings to sort this? It doesn't happen when connected directly to TV and I have tried different hdmi cables to make sure the one used isn't faulty

I can't remember the name of the setting exactly, but in the Display Settings there are three options at the bottom of the list with (HDMI) at the end. Changing one of those fixed that problem for me.
