PS3 HDMI prob

Hi

For a couple of months ive been using my ps3 slim via HDMI on my Samsung 2333HD TV/Monitor without a problem now all of a sudden its saying no HDMI devices connected.... I couldnt even get it to work via the standard av cable using a scart adapter. Took it downstairs and plugged the av socket and hey presto it worked, i cba to try the hdmi down there as the tv is on the wall and is a pain to get the leads back in but took it back up to the 23" and it worked via the scart adapter using the av lead but not hdmi, is it possible that its just a dodgy hdmi cable or am i doing something totally daft :D
 
Dodgy HDMI cable or the HDMI connection on the PS3 is borked, I think it's a relatively common issue as I heard it before.
 
DOH! what an ass I am

Tried the cable on my PC nothing, i pulled the hdmi cable from up behind desk on the other end was a DVI plug and the hdmi was still plugged into PC, there was also a HDMI cable in the back of TV, id totally forgotton I had used the dvi to hdmi cable when my last lcd dvi connection packed in, pulled the cable from the back of the tv and there was the other hdmi plug on the other end, plugged into ps3 and voila!

no wonder ive not been getting any pic...............
