Hi, need to be able to update from USB stick

Just when using wireless it takes ages for some reason.

Thought it maybe quicker to download the file onto a computer, stick it on a usb thumb drive and install that way.

Just turned PS3 on today, and it said there is a update.

________

Forget it, ver 3.7 is not out as far as I can tell anywhere to download from via PC.

Looking at what the update actually does isn't a lot. Nothing most of us will want it for.

Does annoy me though, you fancy a game on your ps3, switch it on only to find out you need to spend god knows how long waiting for the damn thing to update.

Come on Sony, too many updates.

We just want to play games and be done with it. I for one am not bothered about new themes etc.

V7.0? I think you are a little confused.

The latest firmware version for the PS3 is v3.70. Should be able to get it from legit sources on the net.

Anyway to update your PS3 via USB you create a PS3 foder in the root, then you create an update folder, and you then put the update file in this folder.

Plug the USB into your PS3, and click update via USB.

Then you wait.

Then it's job done.

:)

Apparently you're not to bothered about reading things properly either; that's for the PSP.

The new PS3 update actually adds some quite useful features. I started mine about five minutes ago or so and it's just turned itself off now, so I don't know why people moan about it so much.
