PS3 internet connection problem

I have a PS3 20Gb coming sometime near the end of the week and I want to be able to connect to the internet to see if Sony's online gaming service has improved since the days of the PS2 (I remember loggin on with several games to find the place deserted and tumble weeds blowing around!).

The problem is that whilst my router is only a fairly short distance from the TV, there is a door in the way and I don't want to start running cables around the frame. I was wondering if something like an ethernet to wireless adapter would work, or even if something like the Netgear Powerline ethernat adapters woudl do the job. The later would suit me better as I have a couple knocking about which I'm not using for anything else.

If youve already got the powerline kit.. try that out first.. you cant do any harm.. otherwise shouldnt the PS3 have wireless built in? then all you need is to have a wireless access point from your router..

Yeah, I was going to give it a bash anyway. Just though it would be nice if anyone else had tried and had problems.

I have the 20Gb model coming which doesn't have wireless built in, that's on the 60Gb one.

I'm assuming your router doesn't have a wireless connection?

Yeah it's a D-Link gaming router. I will give the powerline's a go and see how it goes. If it's carp I will get myself a wireless adapter.

Powerline adapters work a treat so I'm sorted - I know it seems like an expensive way to get around the problem as they cost over £50 each (over £100 in total) but I bought them to fix another problem a while back and now have them lying around spare.

Oh. According to amazon, the 20gb model has it in too

Nope, It definatley doesn't have wifi.
