I have no idea how well pc's perform now, but i suspect it's getting ridiculous compared to consoles.

Don't have a PS3, but with a game like UT3, that is a PC game, so it'd be a suprise if it didn't have kb+m support. The speed of the game is something a controller would struggle with.

Well yeah, if you only use a M+KB with a pc then i'd say PCs are worse than consoles for MOST games, but most people have an x360 controller for sports/platform/racing games etc.

I was actually looking forward to when consoles used a M+KB, then I'd be able to enjoy some of the console only fps games. Now that i find it painful sitting at a desk i hope that they never do use them tho :p.

You can get your PC to have motion capture controls just like the Wii, there are plenty of good tutorials on Youtube for example.

It does take a bit of fiddling though.
 
Fifa on the PC has always looked shocking & PS1 type graphics. Never understood why.

That said PC gaming is on another level to console gaming, not even just the graphics, whole feel & play on a PC is amazing, and games have more depth like Arma 2.
 
Edit - Creature, I'll never accept that consoles can do certain types of games better since PCs can use any control system (apart from the wii's, but that's a completely different type of gaming imo than PC/X360/PS3), where as a console can't use M+KB.

someone already did wii controler and the bar on a pc.

airmouse are almost the same thing anyway.

with a pc you can have any type of controller you want as pcs can run anything all you need is someone to do the coding.

I'll not hide, i'm a massive console gamer, and haven't played a pc game in years.

However, I can appreciate that the PC is far better at certain types of games than a 360/ps3 (RTS/Most FPS's) and the the consoles can do others better (Fighting/Music). What really gets me is the elitist PC gamers (there's one or two in here) saying that the consoles should just stop and never be produced again as they'll never match a PC. The same is also true vice-versa, and I know there's a few in the console forum that have that opinion of pc = lolzsux.

Defiantly console are great for certain games have a ps3 myself mainly for MGS and the gta's (yes the aiming is as precise but the smothnes of transition between driving and on foot is much better with a controller with analouge sticks than digital keys for driving.)

I stopped PC playing as I could no longer afford the upgrades to play gamers how I wanted, but I doesn't mean that i'll berate the PC for being an expensive piece of ****, it's just simply a different, and in some cases, better way of playing games.

You should come back a relativity cheap pc performs staggeringly well these days in games.

Well without a GFX card then yes it would be more powerful :p

Not to mention it CPU would out perform your i7 at a program like folding at home where it's chip is more suited to the work.

of course you're would out perform it at other apps.
 
Console fanboys, especially PS3 ones make me laugh, seeing as essentially a console is a clocked down pc.

consoles will never outbeat pc games for performance,visuals,mods etc.
 
The PS3 uses the GeForce 7900 GTX-esque graphics chipset, and the Xenon core of the X360 is equivalent to X1900 series from ATI. Goes to show how much optimisation goes into console games.
PC ports on systems twice as powerful can often still run like junk.

Xenos has been eclipsed by more modern desktop PC CPUs, and Cell is a bit of an awkward beast, though it does have a heck of a lot of bandwidth.

Modern GPUs utterly annihilate X360 / PS3 performance in 3D applications. It's like bringing a spoon to a gun fight.
 
well we know that a ps3 uses the 7800GTX chip...any PC with a modern dual/quad core CPU and 4GB ram with a 9800 or newer is always going to beat the PS3...

force the ps3 to do 720p in the tougher games, then we shall see who laughs

i own a PS3 and a Quad core PC with 8800GT btw so im hardly a fanboy either way.
