Hello people,

This is my first post on here,

I have just got a PS3 with a strange issue, i thought it was going to be an easy fix

Basically soon as the power switch is switched on it flashes a red light straight away, with 2 double beeps, i cannot do anything else to the console.

The console is a 40 gig fat and really clean inside with next to no dust (infact the cleanest ps3 i have ever taken apart.

I've tried a known working power supply to no avail.

Thank you in advance

Shane

have you tried it without the hdd in it?

if the machine is too clean, it makes me suspect so some else has had it open to 'try' and fix it before.

i put a known working hard drive in and still does the same.

I know its not been taken apart (well stripped down) because the white tape is still intact on the power supply holding the leads on (well its not now i've swapped the power supply), and the screws haven't been touched inside.

With a ylod, when you plug in the ps3 it gives you a solid red light (same as normal) then when pressing the power button it goes green - yellow - red (flash).

This is going straight to red (flash) as soon as there is power going into the machine. The only button that does anything is eject and that just beeps (same as ylod)

I am more curious than anything as i have not seen this problem before.

I've trolled through many pages on google and cannot even find the same issue (probably why i'm so curious)

I've got about 7 spare (various fat) ps3's sitting around i cant mug the bits from

Well i tried to fix it the same way i've fixed any other ylod, nope it didnt work.

I think this is honestly the cleanest ps3 i have come across, it's like it has just come out of the factory on the inside

here is a video of what it does:
