PS3 Keypad hinders my gaming

I've started using Home a lot more so decided to buy Sonys keypad attachment.
I was playing the Redbull air racing game in Home and it made pressing the L1 and R1 buttons quickly a pain so I at to take it off and throw it aside.

The 360's Chatpad however doesn't hinder gaming while it's attached as it attaches bellow all the controls. I found I also make more typos with the keypad because of it's design.

I'm sure I'll get use to it but I think it's not a good design. I say this because using the 360 Chatpad came like second nature and doesn't hinder gaming while it's attached.

You can just leave it off the pad and use it by itself, does not need to be connected to the control pad to work, as long as you dont lose the thing.

I think it's a terrible design. The 360 one I just leave on all the time, doesn't affect gaming at all.

Can you tell me if these work with games; i.e. in Oblivion you can type in the names of spells and weapons you create. Would you be able yo use the chatpad for this?

Yep as the reply above says, works with nearly all the games (I've tried) that have the onscreen keyboard. Definitely works fine for Oblivion as I've been using it for that lately :)

Take it off? Its not clued onto the pad. I'm not sure if the pad was really meant to be kept on while gaming. Its really just for sending msgs when in the xmb or chatting in home.

Thanks for the replies, looks like I'll be ordering one today!
