PS3 Media centre

I've just got my pc running a media centre program, simplecentre, but when i'm listening to music there is a 5 second gap inbetween each track.

Not sure if it's my network, half wireless and half some very good powerline products from our very own overclockers.co.uk ppl.

Any one give me any advice on using the media centre on the ps3?

happens with tversity too... Think it just caches it... or a decent amount of it.

thats a bit annoying, hmmmm maybe they'll fix it in firmwear update .....

it does it with windows media player 11 media sharing too.

so its definately a PS3 thing. As probably said, because its streaming, it probably waits 5seconds to give the stream download a head start, in the same way a streamed video very rarely starts straight off, and pauses for a few seconds before playing.

but if i'm playing a mp3 about 4 meg then 5 seconds would be enough to get the whole file !
i mean it's not like it can't uncompress at the ps3 and it's having to be transcoded....

Noticed this too with WMP11 sharing, doesn't do it on the 360 so I assumed it was a PS3 quirk.
