So I get the occassional problem with audio during quiet scenes with no speech and low background music that the audio just cuts out to complete silence. As soon as the audio increases in volume or someone starts talking it goes back to normal.

Anyone else seen this or know how to resolve it?

I'm only using my TV for audio, so have changed the settings to 2 channel audio instead of 5.1 and it's still doing it.

Very strange, I've never experienced that with PS3MS.

Your TV works fine during quiet scene's with everything else?

Try editing the PS3's volume normalisation settings.

I get this on my TV, its a 24" Akura,

I have changed the sound settings on my PS3 to 2.1 or something, haven't watched a film yet since changing but before i did, this would happen in films and not on tv series like entourage, etc

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but i wondered if the OP ever sorted this problem out - i have it now as well.

I also have the same model of TV - Samsung LE40M87 (40" lcd). I really cant believe it's the TV - it does it on NOTHING else, we have SKY HD also on HDMI and that's fine.

Very odd problem as the video streaming remains perfect on everything, its just quiet scenes the audio cuts in and out, scenes where 2 people whisper or something.
