First off, merry christmas!

Next up, I've been streaming media wirelessly to my ps3 for a while now and generally it's good but if i watch something high definition i get the occasional stutter. Now all of my wireless network is Wireless N apart from the ps3 which is Wireless G, however the ps3 is right next to my router and modem, so I was wondering if I just plug it in with an ethernet cable then would the pc stream wirelessly to the router and then have a faster wired connection to the ps3?

cheers!

Yes. I am fairly certain 802.11n cannot give the same sustained data throughput as a wired 100/1000mbit network (depending on which your router is). I have used the gigabit link to copy files at 20ish mb/s sustained speed. More than enough for media streaming. I imagine on a 100mb connection you would get about 10mb/s sustained. (I doubt our PC would even be able to send that much data to your router, wirelessly, anyway).
