Does anyone here have move controllers for their PS3 ?
Is it any good?, i'm thinking of getting it but im unsure, need to hear the pro's and con's

I've got some. They are ok really, not amazing. Ok, one 'con' I'll point out is drip pricing. Before you start buying, decide how many you will want in total including navigation controllers and see how much it will cost in total.

If you play the games that are out for it then it is excellent, if you don't then its worthless.

By all accounts Killzone, MAG, Resistance and Infamous are all excellent with them to name but a few.

I've got a set that I've played Sports Chamions with and enjoyed the Table Tennis most of all as it felt so utterly accurate. Bocce and Disk golf were also very enjoyable. I don't play shooters much so I played one demo for a couple of minutes but not long enough to give a personal impression.

If you have kids the new Medieval Moves might be perfect for them as well.

Tumble is good fun if you have a few people playing and is again really accurate as well as being cheap, plus it can be used on Tiger Woods, Socom, Heavy Rain, LBP2, etc.

yeah its mostly for my little boy
we had xbox with kinect, but because there was nothing for him to hold on to he couldnt get the hang of it ( only 4 ),
I think because the move is a physical device that he can hold onto it will be more effective
Thanks for replies guys

do all games require 2 motion controllers? are you able to play all games with just one, or are there games that do require two ?

It might suit him better, maybe try and borrow one if you know anyone with one?

I don't think any game NEEDs two controllers, however quite a few have the option to expand the experience if you do have two. So in the archery games with one controller you just move the one arm, if you have two then you hold one out in front of you as it is holding the bow and then move the other as if you were getting an arrow from your quiver.

Tumble has some multiplayer modes that require two, however it also has some modes that can be played with two people passing the controller around.

For a kid his age I'd also suggest Start the Party, and possibly Eye pet and friends.

Both use the augmented reality quite well and he'll be able to see himself holding a bat and a racket or petting the animal and stuff. There are plenty more Move games for both the "casual" and the "hardcore" too.

PS3 move imo is the 'best' motion controller simply because it's actually responsive and accurate. Kinect isn't responsive enough for any 'proper' gaming and the Wii isn't accurate enough (however i'm hoping Skyward will prove me wrong).

Problem is, out of the three, it has by far the least software support, especially for youngsters.

I'd be careful getting the Move for kids....

It is very different from the Wii and Kinect in that it is very accurate and precise....it is a little more "serious" and kids loose patience with it in my experience.

My three year old gets on fine with the Move controller. Ape escape is a good Move game for kids, and the pet game (can't remember the name) is transformed by using the move controller. As has been said already, there are loads of demos for the Move enabled games, you're sure to find something for him.

From my point of view though, it's pretty pap, I'd much rather use a pad for my gaming.

Used mine a few days ago for House of the Dead. a lot more fun to play with than Time Crisis, the Move wasn't working with it properly for some reason.

I bought a PS3 + Move for my 4/6 year old (at the time) to replace the Wii (I wanted a decent console in the living room for myself)..

All I can say is, it's rubbish for young kids, all we found where the silly party games that they got bored with in 5 seconds flat, all the 'sports' type things (they where fine on Wii Sports and other Wii games) are far too serious for Move, they couldn't get on with them at all.. They just don't cater for young kids at all.

Obviously every child is different, I've never come accross a young kid that can't play kinect because they have to hold something, but if that was the case, then a Wii is what he needs.. cheap, easy waggle games, perfectly suited to the most casual of casual..

We ended up getting a kinect + 360 for them, and they've really taken to it, the fact it has no controller (in contrast to your own child) has meant more games the youngest can engage with. We've sold the Wii as it was gathering dust, and will be getting Sports Season 2 and Disney Adventures for the kids for Christmas..

I thought Move would be better, I conned myself into making up reasons the kids/missus would like it, but the reality is quite different, I'd honestly stick with the kinect, if you want a PS3, get one for yourself (and I'd probably ignore Move unless you absolutely are sure you like playing motion games)..

It certainly seems to be more for the 'grown-up' child (or big kid as a lot of us are :)). I find it really fun to use and the games that utilise it do so really well.

Special recommendations for me would be Resident Evil 5 and Heavy Rain. RE5 I also played with the standard controller and found it a lot easier and more intuitive with the Move controllers, Heavy Rain I only used Move so can't make any comparison between the 2 methods of control.

I recently bought the Sharpshooter for use with the Move controllers, as I straight up hate FPS gaming on consoles, so got it for playing KillZone 3 :)

There seems to be a lack of quality games for it.

Does that not depend on your definition of quality?

Killzone, Heavy Rain, Resistance, LBP2 all work very well with the Move and are very good games.

And for a cheapo PSN game Tumble is also very good.
