PS3 movies

So this is the first time i've used my ps3 in about 4-5 months .. i know what a waste but i noticed they now have movies available which i think was about time that they done this!

However i noticed that you can only rent the high definition versions of movies!

Are they looking to make it available to fully own the movie in hd in the near future i think its really disappointing and a step back having it available in just standard definition imo

Just buy it on Blu ray? It's cheaper, you do not waste HDD space & you can sell the disc at a later date or lend it to a mate etc.

I suspect the usefulness of the Video store will go hand-in-hand with whatever they are cooking up regards to a pay for tier of PSN which will be on top of what access we currently have...

I used the Vid store for an SD film rental and found it to be pretty good, the range they have is quite hit and miss, but there are some gems on there if you look carefully. Out of curiousity I checked newzbin to see if the film I paid for was on there and it wasn't, so it provided a film I wanted to see that I couldn't find elsewhere.
