Ps3 n00b, seeks advice. Re games to purchase

Have finally bitten the bullet and picked up a ps3

now I'd like to build up a reasonable selection of games, I'm not into any one genre but would like to sample a little of everything.

Will be hunting down pre owned bargains where possible, so what would be your top ten consisting of the following

fps (single player offline)
fps multi player online
racing game (arcade, not borderline sim)
beat em up
puzzle

anything else that doesn't fit into a specific category would be appreciated

I don't play FPS on PS3 but;

Racing - The DiRT series
Puzzle - Portal 2, Little Big Planet, Tomb Raider Series

Nothing PS3 exclusive I'm afraid other than LBP. I prefer them all on consol over PC though!!

Demon Souls and Dark Souls for a challenge and Yakuza 3 and 4 are great. I know 4 can be picked up for a tenner and 3 should be able to had second hand.

I've played through a lot of games since January and these are the ones I would definitely recommend getting:

- uncharted (all of them, must have)
- bioshock (I haven't ever played a game with this much atmosphere)
- god of war series (fairly hack and slack but undeniably epic and well made). Have played the HD remakes and will start the 3rd later this week.

I haven't played the third, but you can't miss out on the uncharted games.

If you want a great none sim racer then I'd grab a cheap copy of GRID. Flippin' great fun mate

Rayman Origins

Probably the first game in over a year iv enjoyed on my ps3.

Skate 2/3 are both fun too

As above, start with the PS3 exclusives, so:

Uncharted 1, 2, 3 (series gets better with each one, currently on the third)
Wipeout HD- very challenging, but you will never feel the game has cheated you, you've always made the mistake
Killzone 2 + 3
Demons Souls
MGS4
God of War series
Resistance 3
GT5
Little Big Planet 2

Should be enough to get you going!
