PS3, NAS and thumbnails?

Not a biggie but I've recently hard wired my Lacie 1TB NAS and set it up as a Mediaserver (Twonkymedia 4.4.4) so that the PS3 can stream pics, music and video from the NAS.

For MP3s and photos the PS3 displays thumbnails but for any videos it displays the standard PS3 video folder icon. If I copy the same video onto the PS3s hard drive it display the thumbnail.

As I said not the end of the world but was just wondering if this is the norm?

Yeah it's the norm as the PS3 plays a 'snippet' of the video, in order to display a 'snippet' for every video from my media server for example would take forever to buffer.

It's simply to save on bandwidth.
