PS3 newb question

I'm new to PS3 and HDTV:

I've just bought Final Fantasy 9 on PS Store, but it won't play in full screen (by that I mean 4:3 but maxing the vertical).

I've turned on PS3 upscaler to "normal" and the TV says it's getting a 1080p resolution signal but it's displaying as a small box. What do I do to get it to max the screen?

TV setting is on 16:9 auto zoom.

Bring up the menu whilst playing the game (I forget which button it is) then select the options menu from there and you can select the appropriate option from there for your display settings.

While in the game press the PS button and there should be an option in there somewhere to make it fullscreen.
