PS3 No sound (HDMI)

I was playing on my PS3 before i went to the gym (everything working fine), when i came back i turn on my PS but i have no sound. I have double checked that i have the sound going through hdmi and even reset to defaults but still nothing!

Wondering if anyone has had the same problem as i am running out of ideas and getting very frustrated.

Tried using another method other than HDMI?

Yeah i used the composite cable and it worked fine.

I think its something to do with the HDMI. (jk)

Tried messing with settings on your TV or tried another HDMI cable?

Probably the hdmi cable if you only left for gym and left everything as it was..

yeah tell me about it,

I will go grab a new HDMI cable from the shops today and give i a go. I have looked on the net and it seems that a few people have had this problem and swapping the cable hasnt worked. but im keeping my fingers crossed.

OMG i just turned it on to see if its still playing up and Guess what?

I hate when problems just fix themselves. It probably wont hurt to get a new HDMI cable.
Does the quality of the cable matter or will cheap ones be ok?

Digital signal is digital signal. I wouldnt pay more than 10 for a cable.
I got 2 for under 10 on the bay.

Just got a gold plated one for £9, cheap make but least i can test that if it goes wrong again.

lol my HDMI cable is 24k gold plated and cost me £30 lol.
