PS3 Noob Questions

I sold my PS3 AGES ago... and am really out of the PS3 scene... Need some help deciding what to buy....

Q: Can games be installed on HDD like on a 360 so just the security gets read and game loads faster or is that only for downloaded games?

Q: Is there a list of downloadable games?

Q: I play all media with XBMC so is there any reason to get a big HD model if I cannot install games?

Q: I've been through a nice Wikipedia page listing PS3 exclusives and decided I want to get these series: God of War, Killzone, Resistance, LBP, Uncharted, plus Untold Legends and Haze (not best I know). Any obvious omissions from the PS3 exclusives I ought to play?

They vary. Some don't install, some are optional, some mandatory and out of those, many are just a few hundred MB, some going upto about 15gb. You would have to look up individual games.

If you plan to get PS+ then get a big HDD.

1. Certain games though I don't think all can, tbh games don't really take that long to load anyway

3. Depends on if you want to download games from PSN

4. If you enjoy racing games Gran Turismo 5, though Gran Turismo 6 is coming later in the year, also Infamous is worth a shout

Is there a way to find prices for PSN downloads? Looking at Red Faction PS2 Classics, Dungeon Hunter Alliance, Dust 514... can't find a single price...

PSN is free but yes there is a fee for PS+ which gives you extras such as discounts on games and free games, themes, avatars etc, also allows you to automatically backup your saves online and autoupdate games

Ah... I had just found the Store.. and prices.. but thanks for the extra info. Its nice the way people help here... feel like I am learning something.. now to find a well priced PS3

Am I missing something on PS+? Looks like £40 to play on same network but sweetened with free LBP2, Infamous 2, Motorstorm Apocalypse and Hitman Absolution. Not bad I guess....

Do they disappear if you stop subscribing?

They change the games every month and you can keep then so long as you continue to subscribe, you also get the other features I mentioned above, it is worth it
