Ps3 not displaying picture

Hi im not sure if this is the right place to ask but my ps3 wont display any picture ive tried ressetting the video settings by holding down the power button but still not luck anyone got any ideas what this could be ?

I know this doesn't 'help' you but i had the same problem with my old fat PS3, one day no picture.
I tried resetting the video settings, different cables different TV's etc and had no luck. It turned out to be a faulty HDMI connection on the PS3.

Have you tried composite cables to see if its sending a signal that way?

Have you switched tv's at any point? (Moved rooms or taken to a friends house).

As I've fell foul of this when going from my tv at 1080p to a mates at 1080i and it wouldn't show anything because the console was set to display 'p' but his tv could only display 'i'.

My brother had a problem with his PS3 losing picture and to sort it he had to reset the video settings and then use his av cable. When he got a picture he then had to plug in his HDMI lead. Bit of a pain really!
