Hello there,

So I put FF13 into my 40GB PhatS3, and it doesn't seem to pick up the disc. I tried taking it out and putting it back in, and the icon comes up in the game menu but when I started it up it gives me the 8001050f error. Googling only brings up the PSN thing from months ago.

Has anyone else had this and knows how to fix it? I'm really getting in to FF13 :p

Cheers

I think that could be the bluray laser.. Happened to one of my old 40GB fat models...

Sony replaced it, only for the replacement to go as well. Is it a refurb model?

I know you can get laser kits from ebay and fit yourself if you want..

I've tried a brand new blu-ray that I haven't watched yet, and its as if there is no disc. Is the drive likely to be brokened? I haven't used the drive much since I got it as I mostly play WipeoutHD which is on the HDD :p

Back up your saves etc and format the lot to its original state. Sounds extreme but its worked for a few folk on here before.

I'll give that a go tomorrow, if not I'll have to take it into work and clean the drive lens, and if that doesn't work its a new drive I guess. I bought it from an ebay seller a while ago so I was expecting something to go wrong eventually :)
