ps3 not recognising external hdd

got a ps3 for xmas and im very pleased with it . i plugged my hdd in the ps3 to play some vids and music and it was fine . went back to playing games then attempted access my hdd , it recognises it but says there are no files on it . any ideas .

create a folder called 'video' stick all your video files in there and it'll see em


Either that or point at the HDD in the ps3 menu, press triangle and select 'view all'

ive done it . as soon as it recognises the drive i press the triangle key and all the files pop up . smashing . thanks for your help streeteh .
