PS3 not working.

When ever i star up my ps3 after about 2 sec it stop and the red light just start flashing

Any idea's on how to fix it ?

Could be a ylod , my 40gig played up a few months back had to replace it with a slim

when it happens do you notice a small quick flash of yellow before it starts flashing red?

i tried to fix my phat 40gig from ylod, twice and both times it would only last for 30mins, so i bought a slim.

i think to get the disc out if you power it down at the back, press an hold the eject button and turn it back on it should eject.

I think thats the fan test but ill give it a try.

you could be right, cant remember how i did mine now to be honest, probably a case of hitting eject as much as possible when it turns on an before it bleeps

Your right it worked, you just have to keep hitting the eject button when its doing the fan test.

Post it on ebay as goosed and buy a slim

good, now get a slim, its quite a bit quieter, and if you have a telly with bravia link, vierea link or any of the other links samsung/lg do you can control it from you telly remote :cool:
