PS3 & OcUk 24" monitor help needed

(posted in another thread but probably a bit off-topic there)

Trying to help a mate out over the phone, and probably the blind leading the blind. Basically he's got the ocuk 24", his ps3, and a HD Fury Gamer cable. He's currently got it outputting in 720p, but wants it in 1080 if possible. Can anyone tell me the PS3 menu order he needs to select to do this?.

In the display settings menu, choosing the correct cable, and then 'automatically detect' will output to the highest res possible on the monitor I believe.

Forgive my dumbness as i dont own a PS3 myself, but any idea which the correct cable option/name would be in the menu choice, for the HD Fury Gamer? (HDMI ---> VGA)

It will be display settings then hdmi and manually set it to 1080p and not 720p or any others but you must remember that a lot of games are only 720p so before playing them games you would have to have 720p selected in the display settings which is abit of a pain .
