Hi, got the official sony bluetooth headset for my birthday & its been ok apart from some problems with sensitivity, i've found that when ingame my name is nearly always on screen to signify that i'm speaking only problem is i'm not
I've tried turning my tv volume down & adjusting the mic sensitivity down to 1 in the options but that didnt seem to make a difference, so i tried pairing the mic with my PS3 using the search for bluetooth device in the options, this seemed to work my name no longer appeared on screen all the time but by doing this the mic no longer works in high quality & noise cancelling mode plus the mic's on screen battery & volume display no longer works :(
Has anybody else had the same problem?

Wish games had a push to talk option like warhwak then i wouldnt have a problem.
Muting the mic till i want to talks is a good idea, just means i've got to take 1 hand off the controller when i want to speak, my kill to death ratio is bad enough already:)

I found I had to have my TV volume switched down very low indeed (5 or less) to prevent it being picked up by the mic. When I did this, everything was fine and my voice indication on the screen only lit up when I was speaking.

use headphones for sound so that its directed to your ears, i think that i get better sound through my headphones anyway(less ambient sound)
or perhaps your mic is too close to your mouth?

My mouths not that big :D Its just the official mic so cant really change how close mouthpiece is to my mouth.
Found the problem varies from game to game, Killzone 2 is'nt that bad but playing bond QOS it's terrible, everytime someone speaks it echo's down my mic

Aaaah i was really really considering getting a headset for my ps3 as im gona start playin RES5 CO OP with a cousin of mine, but if it the headset is not very responsive and you will face difficulties hearing etc, its put me of?

There are 2 ways to pair the device..

  1. Pair whilst plugging the headset in to the PS3 via the USB cable
  2. Pair over the air using Bluetooth

Option 2 requires you to enter a passkey, option 1 doesn't.

You cannot change sensitivity on option 1, but you don't have access to HQ mode on option 2.

Obviously, it's better to use option 2 if you're having issues with the mic picking up background noise :p
