Sorry if this has been asked before, i did search and found nothing that 100% answered my questions.

Just impulse bought a PS3 80gb, got it home to find a less than useless RCA cable in the box, my plan had been to use it on one of my 24" Dell screens, from the research ive done ive found that over Component ill get 1080i, and to get the full 1080p, ill have to either buy an HDFury or HDMI-HDMI cable and 2way switch. But, now im seeing something about HDCP, which, i dont understand. My Monitors are 2405, 2407 and 2407HC, all are currently connected to my Macpros using DVI cables, and thats how it will have to stay.

What are my options? will any of the monitors work with HDCP, meaning a relatively cheap 2way HDMI switch box is the best option or will i need to get the HDFury? Do i even need to bother, is 1080i over a component cable going to be good enough on the 24" screen?

I could always take the PS3 thru into the living room and hook it up to the 50" Sony, but thats where my Xbox360 is, so ideally i want 1 console in each room.

Thanks for any help and advice, Darryn.

The 2407 is DVI-I and HDCP compliant so all you need to get for your PS3 to output at 1080p is a DVI to HDMI cable.

Iirc the 2405 isnt compliant with HDCP so you will not be able to play Blu-rays.

Thanks Mr Nanoman, ill get a HDMI-DVI cable and switch box tomorrow. :)

I'm currently using my PS3 through a 2407 WFP with a hdmi -> dvi adapter and it works fine for games although I haven't tried a blu-ray yet...

Cheers for the help and advice guys, setup working fine, ive got HDMI-DVI into a switch then into my 2407HC, and for sound ive got the red and white AV cables into a 2.5mm Jack into my Line In on a Macpro, then out to my main speakers, kinda spaghetti setup but it works perfectly. :)
