PS3 on 27" 1440p

I'm considering buying a dell/HP/hazro IPS based 27" primarily for PC gaming/film/photo editing but also want to be able to plug in a PS3 for bluray & gaming.

Anyone care to share their thoughts/experiences on image quality when 720p/1080p HDMI console output is upscaled to 1440p?
