Ps3 on dell 2407 ..... and PC ?

ok looking at my cable... dvi end... pin arrangement is like this :

1 horizontal pin
3 x 3 grid of vertical pins
2 x 2 rows of no pins
3 x3 grid of vertical pins.

is this correct DVI ?
looking on the net there seems to be some with all the pins... some like the one I got.

What have you guys got ?
TIA

The one with the lesser pins is analogue. So basically this wouldnt work with HDMI at all. You need a cable with all the pins (DVI-D). That should work if DVI-I is both analogue and digital. If not you are going to have to get a DVI-D switch.

Found this...

It might answer a few questions you have about the Dell screen

http://vissione.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/1080p-for-cheap-dell-2407wfp/

It seems that there could be an issue with it.

"However, if you are currently planning to get a cheap 1080p display (like me) for your PlayStation 3, the 2407WFP is still a viable choice."

after reading that.... seems it will work

have just ordered another cable - this one states PS3 and has all the pins... will see how this fairs.

cant believe its such a carry on to get a console on a monitor. sigh.

Does this switch support 1080p? Some I've been looking at only support 1080i which is what could be causing your problem.

If that's not it then I'm really not sure.

it doesnt say on the website - either way I need to get the signal via the cable direct first before trying the box as well.

Cable should be here tomorrow so Ill let you know if it does.
One guy above recommended it so maybe he can answer ?
