ps3 on watchdog next week!

That letter seems fair enough. From that, it sounds that they haven't put much research into what they're about to broadcast.

Quelle surprise?
Its watchdog you dont think they know what they are doing do you? Thought the letter was well argued, still would like to see SCEUK drop the repair price to under £100 for "good will".

FFS. They're claiming that the temporary oven fix is all that's needed.

They really do know nothing.

But the reworking of the ball grid array usually does it. In the earlier PS3 models there wasn't enough thermal compound either, which wouldn't help.

What awful reporting - and that's coming from someone who has both consoles and prefers neither. Wonder when the RROD report is coming now... Touching wood, housemate and I have two PS3s here, neither has failed (one launch, the other an 80gb). We both also had 360s, one has failed. At least MS admitted to the 54% faillure rate :)

Why pay £128 to get it fixed for good by Sony (with delivery included) when for £100 you can have your PS3 rejuvenated for a week by some cowboys in the back of a van.
