PS3 on wireless help

My PS3 does simply not wanna play ball on wireless. The signal is about 80% but when playing online the lag is pretty bad and I get disconnections every so often. My 360 does not seem to be as bad.

I usually use wired but since I ordered a new capture card, I need to bring my PS3 upstairs to record it. Is there any tips I should be doing to stop it lagging so bad and disconnecting? I have tried different wireless channels etc. Tried both a Netgear and a Thomson router. The Thomson did not seem as bad.

My PS3 would be basically directly underneath my router upstairs. Is it worth getting someone experienced in to drill a hole in the wall or something to allow me to cable hook the PS3 up? I know I can buy a home plug but don't wanna spend even more money than I already have.

My ps3 is right next to my o2 wireless router and it's absolutely gash using wireless, I'd just get it wired up asap if I was you.

Not very technical sorry but that's what I've found trying to use the ps3 wirelessly :p (Mine's obviously wired up)
