PS3 Online Storesn Query

PS3 Online Store Query???

As is the case with a few people on here I'm contemplating an Import PS3.
I've researched the Game v Blu Ray V DVD region issues & they're quite simple for me - it doesn't really matter cos I want a games console.

My question relates to the online stores? I keep reading "only available in Japan" (take the GT HD demo scheduled for Dec 24 as a good example) so it is clear that the stores are regionalised.

My question is can a US machine connect to the Japanese store & vice versa. Further will either of these machines connect to the EU store once it's arrived?
If so how? If not why not?

The reason I ask is simple if I'm gonna get PS3 I want the best online service possible - it's becoming prety obvious that from a content point of view - the Japanese store is the way forward.

Yes! In order for you to access BOTH stores you need to create 2 accounts on the PS3. One needs to be from Japan and the other from US. Once the PS3 is released in Europe, you will need to do the same as before. Create accounts for different regions. Japan has items that US store hasnt - why? GOD KNOWS! :p

Follow up question:
If I download content from the Japanese store using the Japanese account can the content I download be used by the US account or is it restricted to the account you used to download it?
