Hi all, I've got a 24 inch monitor, which is 1920x1200 native res.

I'm thinking of getting a PS3 or 360 again (as I used to own a 360) and connecting it up to the monitor via DVI.

Does anyone know if they will display correct? What res's will the 360 and PS3 output to on the monitor without it looking turd?

Any help appreciated!

Hi, I've got the Acer G24 24" monitor, which is 1900 by 1200 native resolution at 16:10 format & I've got my xbox 360 connect by hdmi & it looks fantastic. It displays the image at 1900 by 1080 at 16:9 format so there are small bars top & bottom but it looks great, pin sharp. I can get rid of bars in the tv settings but this would stretch image so I leave it alone, dont notice black borders when you've got half a dozen zombies running at you :)

I would expect so, both hdmi & dvi cables carry digital signals. I think the only difference is that dvi cant carry sound, so unless someone older & wiser knows better a dvi cable should allow your monitor to scale to your resolution ok :)

It depends if your monitor does 1:1 - meaning that it will give you black bars and an image of the proper propertions if it does or will stretch the image slightly if it does not.

i have the latter on my OcUK 24" and my 360 with a VGA cable and it still looks fantastic although on the whole I'd like to at least see how it would look at 1:1 at some point.

My 24" does have a decent MVA panel though so im not sure how TN panels will fair

Got a BenQ G2400W 24inch lcd that supports 1:1. My Xbox elite looks awesome on it at 1080p. 2 little bars at the bottom and top due to the resolution.
