I already own a Xbox 360 Elite, Nintendo Wii and a decent gaming PC I keep up to date.

Is it worth my hassle getting a PS3? What "exclusive" games would it be worth? I'm tempted to just go down and buy one, but I fear it will end up never being switched on!

Looks to me like you have plenty to keep you entertained at present. The PS3 doesn't have a big enough library of games exclusive to it yet, wait for more games and the price to come down.

You've got the gaming scene well covered here - all you're going to achieve is to start another 360/wii/PS3 flame war. All the info you need is here - why dont you just try a search.

Anyway - I'd spend the money on a late deal winter break :)

jeez where do you get the time? At the very least the bluray will come in handy.

Depends what you're buying it for. Games? lol theres a ton more on everything else. The ps3 console itself is great....great idea, great potential but unrealized......

ive signed up to one of those rental things where they send me a couple of blurays/ps3 games when ive finished with the last ones.

I think its fair to say you will play a PS3 more over the next year than you are likely the Wii.
Get one and stop being a sissy. In the history of video gaming their was never a time when only a single system was suffice. PS3 blumming marvelous it is, err it will be...

Judging by what your saying and your system spec i think its fair to say you wont mind spending the money at all...

TBH, I'd wait until MGS4 comes bundled with a PS3 and a DualShock 3 controller. Then you'll get the full experience. Right now, the games do feel as if they're missing a certain something! I'm going to have to get a 360 in the meantime to fill the void of games.

use you're head, is there anything you want to play that's only on the PS3 right now??? most likely no otherwise you would already know about them and wouldn't be posting this thread.

wait until the price drops and theres something you actually want to play on it which right now is nothing for those with 360's.

out of curiousity what game similar to Heavenly Sword does the xbox360 have?

The only game of its genre I can think of would be Ninja Gaiden 2 next year, but even then, Heavenly Sword is a million miles away from being a title worthy of a console purchase. Xbox360 might not have a similar game in terms of genre and style, but it has loads in terms of similar (and better) quality.

because he said that ^^ and there is nothing that the xbox360 has which compares. So lies tbh :p

I would say its a AAA title but not one where you should buy the console to own lol. (i dont really think many games can claim that)

can you name them all? Better games in terms of quality? Do you mean gameplay? graphics, sound? fun? what?

I could name plenty, unfortunately it would take me ages and I really can't be bothered. But it's quite clear and they have been mentioned here many times before.

This is true. The 360 has a whole chunk of outstanding games. There isn't one PS3 game at the moment that I'd buy one to play. Might change in a year or so, and I hope it does. But for now I'm sticking with the 360. Why pay a premium for minimal content, when you can wait, save money and get more in a year or so?

I did not intend to start a flame war, I wanted to know if it is worth it or not. Thanks for the replies, I will go and pick one up when I am free as i do love choice I must admit (I am a spontaneous player and I tend to not stick at a game for ages, I like to play a bit of Game A, then some of Game X then perhaps a little bit of B!)

I have time now (just finished MSc and my proper job does not start for a month or two) and it pays amazingly, so I don't mind buying it. It's just will it be a nice black doorstop for me heh

The way I see it, the only AAA games on the 360 are Bioshock, Halo 3 and Gears. On the PS3 there isn't any yet, but Uncharted is looking promising and MGS4 will be out next year (which is the main reason I bought the PS3).

Both are great systems, they have bad points and good points, some of these will be sorted out in the next year and some which won't. You sound like you really want it and you won't regret it, it's a great piece of kit and it's a great Blu-Ray player :)

I wouldn't pay £18 for Blu-Ray's at the moment, so sign up to a rental service online and you can get them for free for the first 1-3 months depending on the offer you can get.
