as title, my ps3 pads constantly unsync, totally at random and it seems to be happening more and more frequently, like at least once per session :/

the problem is all my pads will unsync (seriously wtf!) even the ones that aren't on, this can happen in the middle of a game or just on the dash etc. and they will not resync at all unless i switch off the ps3 and start over. very annoying because i have to resync and obviously because i can't get the pads to work at all until i restart... i lose any data thats unsaved :/

so anyone else had this prob? my ps3 is still under warranty. if i get this replaced, will they send me a new console or refurb? i have the 40 gb model... will they send me back a 40gb model or 80gb?

thanks for the help guys :D

DS3 by any chance? My jap DS3 has sync problems. If I go to charge it with the cable and then take it off charge sometimes it just wont sync back at all. The lights remain flashing and its only when I reconnect the cable it will work again. I have to switch the PS3 off and on for it to sync wirelessly. Its never happened with any of my other pads though so I reckon its probably dodgy controller. But the fact it happens with all yours is probably reciever issues, maybe try the pads on a different PS3 is possible.

2 ds3's and 1 sixaxis, all get unsynced :(

anyone know what kind of ps3 ill get in return from sony? 40/80gb? new/refurb?

Typically you'll get a refurbished 40gig delivered to your front door which you then swap for your old unit. Recently some people have been forced to send their old units away for repair but that still seems like a rare occurrence.

As i say mate, i had the same problem, i'd be playing and suddenly my controllers would disconnect and i'd have to restart the PS3.

Most likely a fault with the PS3.
Or maybe you have bought something recently that's interfering with the signal?

nah don't think it would be that, its been happening months now... ain't really got anything new that electrical really. any particular sort of items that might interfere with the pads?

i reckon its the ps3 itself though its streeteh had the problem and its fixed since... will find out when i ring sony tomorrow

I had real problems with a Motorola bluetooth headset causing my pads to unsync (as many here who played Warhark might remember). I bought a Sony Ericsson headset in the end, and all is fine now. Anything using bluetooth at your end ojste?

hmm ain't got nothing thats bluetooth in my room except my phone where bluetooth is never on. the only thing that can even do wireless other than the controllers is the router but thats wifi so i guess it doesnt affect it?? ill see if it plays up today anyway.

Had exactly the same issue with my old 40GB PS3. Occasionally any connected bluetooth devices (controllers, blu-ray remote and headset) would just turn off. Only way I could solve this was to totally switch the PS3 off. The problem seemed to get worse over time too. I ended up taking mine back to the place of purchase and got a new 80GB one. Haven't had any issues since. My guess is that the bluetooth module inside my old 40GB PS3 had developed an intermittent fault.

well gonna give sony a ring today as it unsynced twice yesterday, hopefully they'll send me a new 80gb :p

well my new ps3 came today, i must say the overall service is pretty pain free and easy... they picked it up within a week and it was a straight swop at the door.

HOWEVER. they have sent me a ****** up ps3. lol.

this one is getting giant black lines down the screen when im watching videos (then completely crashes) and then i left it idling in the dash with the background video from the game cd playing... the screen freezes while the sound plays then after a few mins of freezing it also crashes.

this is why i dont trust refurbed crap... any chance of sony sending me a brand new one? looks like ill be calling them again tomorrow anyway.

I think if you kick up eugh of a fuss they will cause they'll, know you'll come back to some forum and another and then praise sony;s support.
