Hi all,

Got a quick Q, my other half has got a PC she uses for instant messenger etc and has just bought herself a PS3, now her room is tiny and if possible we want to avoid having multiple setups.

SO, i was wondering if it's possible to rig a single monitor with a switch to allow swapping between the PS3 and the PC? it'd have to be simple as she wont want to be fiddling about all the time.

She also has a 15" monitor laying around, is it possible to hook both up and just swap the 22" to whichever she happens to be gaming on, using the 15" for IM etc? she's using a radeon 3850.

Thanks for any helps :)

A KVM would only be necessary if the monitor only has one input. If it's 22" it presumably has both DVI and VGA at least, which should be perfect - use DVI for the PC and get a VGA cable for the PS3. I use my monitor for my Xbox 360 in this way (DVI for PC, HDMI for Xbox 360).

The only thing to worry about then is audio - my preferred solution is to plug the 360 audio cable into the PC's line-in socket so I can use the same set of speakers for both. The only issue is that the PC needs to be on to hear sounds from the 360 but that's fine with me since it's on most of the time anyway.

Thanks for the help guys, ended up grabbing a monitor with HDMI for the PS3 and DVI for the PC so that should solve it (i assume)
