PS3 Power Cable

My PS3 stays downstairs most of the time as I've got 5.1 speakers there. Had to tidy the cables up so my PS3 power cable can't really move, neither can the HDMI cable.

I would like to take my PS3 up to my room now and again, so to save cutting cabletidys every time I was just going to buy another HDMI cable and power cable.

Is the power cable for the PS3 just a standard power cable that you would plug into your PC? Would it be safe to use a different cable other than the official Sony one?

If so then can someone point me in the right direction of an alternative cable or replacement?

Thanks in advance

Yep just a standard 10 amp IEC C13/14 "Kettle" power lead i think, you can use the high temp C15 ( the one with the notch in the top) in the PS3 if you have one of those around.
