Now, for the new year, there's a new bundle for the 40GB model, called the Pick N Mix. The bundle includes a 40GB console, plus two games from a list of 12, for £349.99. The offer will launch on January 18.
The games are: Resistance: Fall of Man, Genji: Days of the Blade, Formula One Championship Edition, Ridge Racer 7, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Folklore, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Warhawk (with headset), Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and SingStar (with microphones).
You know how it is with Sony. How exactly is that a price drop?
Quoted for truth.Blu-Ray will win the HD war, but it will not replace DVD.
Need to cut it to about £150 (with 2 games) to make it tempting![]()
Quoted for truth.
The transition from SD to HD as the majority viewing format will take quite a while, during which time it's highly likely that digital media will come into it's own, rendering physical media virtually obsolete.
Would be nice for Blu-ray to come down to a reasonable price in the meantime though, and the 'victory' over HD-DVD will certainly help.
The only Blu-ray player which can upgraded to use all the features is Sony's PlayStation 3, because it comes with the right hardware built-in and online access.
you can get them for £299 no games right now, so says the large electronics chain i was nosing around today. Why do they insist on bundling 2 games? £299 without would be far more attractive, especially as they're the cut back 40gb versions without PS2 emulation.
That said, this looks quite interesting for any potential buyers:
