I've just read that the "new" bundle was announced in July. That is quite recent and therefore annoying as it means a price drop won't come that soon after their latest marketing ploy.
EDIT: Just seen "The Times" article on the phasing out of the 60GB and introduction of the 80GB. Looks like I'm not getting a PS3 until 80GB price cut time now...(I can afford the 60GB just now but it's just too expensive considering the lack of games and the lack of HDTV in my house).
EDITx2: When is the 80GB being introduced in the UK? No doubt it will be £450 with the 60GB taking a massive cut to £350 RRP. Shocking to think it is £244 in America.
EDITx3: Is the hard drive and inclusion of Motorstorm the only difference with the 80GB vs 60GB models?
Ok heres the story bout the 80 Gb, according to Head of SCEE, when the SCEA wanted to use the emotion engine less PS3 (what we have in PAL regions), they thought to compensate the future US PS3 owners who are missing out on full BC they'd add an extra 20 Gb and motorstorm. Ok thats is like I said from the head of SCEE, carry on from this he said Europe prob wouldnt get the 80 Gb as it was compensation for the US versions loosing the EE and full BC.
Theres also been a lot of noise about the bundle PS3 pack being a summer promotion which will end 31 August, if true it will follow the theory that at Leipzig game show this week a PAL price cut will be forth coming.

60gb to 80gb is a crappy upgrade that i really question, why the bother?! its like me swapping my x1800xt for an x1900xt. This whole thing will cost sony millions overall, not to mention hacking off all fans who paid a lot of money for it to find it is being replaced by a (marginally) better version.
i paid 310quid delivered for my ps3 with 3 games (1 of them still sealed) an HDMI cable and 4 blu ray films. bargain price.
I recommend buying a ps3 from the MM like I did as there are many Pc enthusiasts who bought it on impulse and don't actually want it. My ps3 came with the receipt from play.com and Ive saved 200-300quid
