Hi There,

I'm away from home and thought i'd take me PS3 with me but its set to hd 1080p, and the tv is a old crt so using composite via scart setup only the TV won't display or detect the PS3 due to the higher resolution.

I've tried doing a reset, but can't get 3 beeps out of the console, mainly just on a beep then off, sometimes i get two beeps but no signs of a reset.

I was hoping some kind soul who's got 5 mins to turn on their console and give me a up left, x x right kind of instructions to the resolution menu and to turn it to 480 or composite via scart settings?

Thanks.

Hold down power button for like 5 seconds?

Should hear one inital beep, then irrc two beeps and it should reset to the default.

EDIT: :(

Ok so its not 3 beeps together (first time i've heard that thanks), well i think it has done this several times then it turns itself off, is that what is supposed to happen? I'm guessing not :(

turn it on with no tv connected should detect no tv, plug tv back in and it should go to the initial setup

Worth a shot but that hasn't worked either. The Tv's scart detects other hardware no problem, but I've never tried the PS3 via composite before, could be a dodgy connection or lead, no way of finding out right now.

At least reign of fire is on, half decent, should see me through the rest of the night. :(

Strange that the reset thing is not working but I find it really hard to play go from HD to SD with modern consoles. Ok on a master system or something but trying to play BC2 in SD for example I found nearly impossible.
