any one seen it?

Sony have updated their TOS which could mean you get banned for using any 3rd party peripherals!

You agree that you will not use any unauthorized hardware, including peripherals not sold or licensed by a Sony company such as, by way of example only, non-licensed game enhancement devices, controllers, adaptors and power supply devices (collectively, "Non-Licensed Peripherals") or software to access or use Sony Online Services or any content or service provided on or through Sony Online Services.

This seams way ott to me, will i get banned for my 500gb HDD? or a 3rd party controller?

All mouth and no trousers. They can't detect or even to bother trying to detect when you're using a non-authorized controller.

Let's be rational here, we all know they won't ban for third party controllers it hard drives, and we all know what thus means and what they will look for.

I'd wager this is more than likely introduced in order to deter less desirable peripherals. By this i mean the ps3 hack dongle is technically a peripheral, so it would fall into that category. The XIM3 again is a peripheral that gets many people's backs up.
