PS3 Query!

Does anyones PS3 make an occasional "clunking / clicking" (like a hard drive stopping)?? Just got a new 80gb PS3 and it's working fine, but just worried this may not be normal!

Also, what setting do you use for ripping music cd's to the hard drive? aac? mp3? what bit rate?

I don't think it's the disc drive- It does it even when no disc is inserted.

I should add it is not a very loud noise- and only lasts for half a second or so (so just a little click type noise- hard to describe!!), and i've had a 40gb PS3 which I do not think made that noise... :confused:

Thought it might be due to the difference in hard drives.

Why mp3 over aac?

Anyone have any problems with using PS3 with Z5500's via optical? For some reason when on the XMB the speakers show "no digital data" - like it takes a few seconds to pick up any sound. e.g. for the first few seconds of moving around on the XMB the speakers will make no noise but then the speakers will pick up the fact that there is a digital stream present.
