PS3 question

Probably a stupid question, but having just found a bargain and bought a UK one for £285, I have a query.

Can you only get HD via HDMI? Or, can I hook it up via component?

Sorry, if it's a daft question, but I'm sure I read somewhere that it defaulted to SD if you didn't use HDMI......or was that just for BD playback?

The problem is that my HD tv and HD projector only have DVI/VGA or component - eek!

Thank god for that, otherwise it'd be going straight back to the shop!

The stupid thing is, I had an import PS3, but have since sold my old Panny HD tv, but not bought a replacement yet as decided to wait for 1080p to become a tad cheaper. So, am living with a 26" Dell and my Sanyo HD projector for the time being and didn't realise that neither have HDMI.

Sorry, was £285 (via referal site) brand new UK 60gb with RfoM from a certain online Jersey etailor (that's now sold out anyway)........it best turn up now though!
