So i already have a ps3 hooked up in the sitting room for playing blu-rays and gaming but was thinking of getting a second one for the bedroom but wanted to know if my save games will work on both systems or are they tied to one unit? say im playing downstairs then take my save game file upstairs via usb stick will it work and if not is there another way to do it? thanks

Pretty sure you can, but be warned some game saves can't be copied.

This looks like a relatively up to date list (has Heavy rain on it). I cannot understand why 3rd parties (and Sony) do this to be honest. I could understand if the majority did it but only a small percentage (sometimes very recent games) of publishers do this.

p.s. I think FF13 is locked as well (new game, not on that list).

Locked save games are a true joke, it's the main area that's actually gone backwards this gen.

I frequently have to carry around a PS3 in my backpack, despite the fact I own three of them, just so I can take my save data around!

Not so easy to do then i see, i agree its a joke not bein able to take your save game from one system to another, i pay for the games and systems then its like your told no no no there still not yours to do with as you please. dont think al buy another one now prob just get another hdmi lead and power cable and move the machine around where i want it.

Does it not even let you backup the saved games then?

PS You have way too much money if you want a ps3 for each room :p

Unplugging with additional cables sounds easilest option. Just leave the cables plugged in and hook up when up stairs.

as said above for the sake of about £10-15 on new cables you want to buy a new ps3???

all you need is a new kettle lead and a hdmi lead that you can leave in at all times, im glad the ps3 is past all the specific leads that previous gens had, universal is the way forward

Im planning a nice setup where my xbox, ps3 and sky hd box are in my cupboard and all running into a hdmi splitter which runs a hdmi to my livingroom tv, but also my bedroom tv. Now ive just realised its going to cost more than i thought it would, if i want to be able to watch sky hd in one room, then ps3 in another room (a rare occurance mind you)

just got 2 hdmi cables and 2 power leads from the bay for under a tenner so i can run it in 2 extra rooms of my choice :-) surely sony should look into this as it will caus them to loose sales buy people not willing to pay for a system that you cant fully utilise by being able to copy and transfer save games.
