PS3 Rainbow Six Vegas

Yep very good game, not sure how it compares to the 360 version but that was an excellent game.

I've read they're very similar so yes it's definately worth a purchase :)

pretty sure I read on here previously if you've played the 360 version then don't bother getting it on the PS3, if not I would expect it to be a good game although I haven't played it I've seen the trailer on PSN and it seemed good. I'm sure somebody with 1st hand experience will comment shortly.

I got this on rental last week, also got it on PC, to be honest i enjoyed it more on the PS3. PC looks better but i couldnt get on with it for some reason, I had one little frame rate judder in the middle of a fire fight when i launced a couple of smoke grenades by mistake. Nothing major though, didnt seem to have as much light bloom (which annoys me) as the PC version. I'd rent it first if possible, If i hadnt got it on the PC i would probably get it on the PS3, not tried it online yet. Theres also an update coming soon for the PS3 version I read on the forum.

May try when i get back in, did notice that your friends list is displayed in the game, much like RFOM. Wont last very long online though :D

Ive played both (well GRAW2 Demo), and id deffo get Vegas! Graw is such a bad port! Vegas aint amazing but its better + its generally a better game (prefer the controls).

Played it round a friends, whilst the 360 looks a bit sharper, they both play exactly the same (framerate wise) so go for it.

no way, it jutters at some points too

"The overall frame rate is very close to that of the Xbox 360 version, though the loading times are the same, even though the game does cache information to the PS3's hard drive the first time you start it up. "

"The modified Unreal Engine 3 graphics engine that powers the game looks unchanged, though the frame rate does seem to struggle a bit more during some of the more intensive scenes." gamespot

"First impressions can often be misleading, and that’s very much the case with this PS3 version of Ubisoft Montreal’s eight-month-old tactical shooter. While it was never as tasty in the looks department as Tom Clancy’s other two major franchises - the shadowy beauty of Splinter Cell and the explosive detail of GRAW - we certainly don’t remember the 360 game having jaggies. Nor were there noticeable frame rate stutters in particularly frantic moments. Scale the picture back down to 720p and things do improve, but then you’ve got that opening level to go through - a mission to Mexico that’s by turns knuckle-chewingly dull and teethgrittingly frustrating. And while Vegas is one of the most accessible titles within its field, the sky-high difficulty and plodding pace of the opening exchanges will infuriate those with an itchy trigger finger, not to mention anyone raised on the likes of Gears of War.
"

OP forget about all the "it's better on the 360" comments. If you actually have it running on a 360 next to you while playing the PS3 version then you will notice the differences - if you only have it on PS3 then you have nothing to compare it against so I'm sure you will be more than happy with it ;)

I have played it on PS3 and PC and I havce to say that I prefer it on the PS3 because the controls are a little more complex on the PC version (too many keys to remember). I usually prefer FPS on PC too.

Good point.

I drive a Fiat Punto 1.2, the greatest sports car ever built, its made by the same people that make ferrari's. I've never driven anything else, so I have comparison to make.

Probably not a good comparison because the 360 is as reliable as a fiat ;)

FRAME RATE PROBS

much better on the xbox 360

XBOX 360 VERSION WAS TOO BLURRY AND THE LIGHTING BLOOM WAS ANNOYING.

See, i can shout too......

And to be frank, its ran like a bag of bolts on the 360 in many place, which is the main reason i got rid of it on the 360.

They have changed the lighting slightly in the PS3 version, and it somehow feels a lot more natural rather than having the 'everything glows' effect that seems very popular in games now.

One of the few 360 games i've played that was solid and smooth 100% of the way through the game. Strange yours wasnt, your console must be half dead ;)

Do the casino mission at the start outside, throw a smoke for cover and double check its running smooth. I turned it off after then as it got annoying.

He's right me and him done co-op on that level and the FPS levels were down right shocking, very bad slow down. However, I will admit that the PS3 is not adverse to having slow down issues too.

Yeah seemed alright , theres supposed to be a few bugs (i didnt see them though), but there getting patched soon. Gameplay was quite smooth and didnt suffer from lag at any time. Problem is im gonna have to dig up my PC version as my PS3 version is rental and never came with any info about the game modes! The co-op terrorist hunt was quite good , but i need a lot more time on the MP it before i make my mind up to buy it.
