PS3 red blinking light

hi guys brought a ps3 that has red blinking light was told it was faulty psu but have changed that and still not joy ...ive stripped the whole thing down and and cant see any componants burt out on motherboard any ideas?

Probably nothing to do with the PSU, more likely either a fried component or bad solder, get a heat gun on the solder joints on the motherboard and see if that helps.

ive looked for all the obvious cracks etc, i cant see anything ....ill try a heat gun and see what happens

Try new thermal paste on the CPU & GPU.
Sometimes that is all that's needed.

that was first thing i did. that never workedunless maybe i put to much on ?

One flashing yellow led at all? before the red flashing. My 40GB model died on me due to this. It was working the day before. Has never been overheating, switched it on one day green light, shutdown, one yellow flash then green then red light. With the 3 beeps and continual red flashing.
