PS3 Red light issue

Hi there

Anyone have any experience with fixing the red light issue on the ps3?

My brother inlaws ps3 is currently doing it.

Things I was going to try:

Clean it with compressed air
Try the fan mode
Replace the hard drive with old one

Anything else?
