PS3 Release & 360 price drop

I brought an XBox 360 last week. I have a Tosh 32Wlt66 and have played PGR3/Oblivion & Pray - I really dont think its as great as the hype suggests. Certainely doesnt seem to be leaps and bounds ahead of the original Xbox. The wireless controller is the most impressive aspect for me.

You don't like the integrated chat? the media centre connect? the Market place? the music streaming?

IMO its the small things that make the 360 great. Not the graphical power. TBH in terms of graphics I think games developers and hardware manufactures are at a point of severely diminished returns.

Some of the small things that impress me in the 360:

The crowd in PGR3 each person is unique that's 30000 people and not one is the same.

The crowd reaction when you drive at them in PGR3, ok its nothing that special but it is an enhancement on previous games

Kameos 1000 Trolls (or more) scene. There is more enemies on the screen than I have ever seen before in a game. And they are all doing something.

The level of detail in the grass in GRAW. It moves it sways with the wind, it is quite distracting tbh (Ceeg has got many kills on me due to my grass watching)

An explosion in COD2 that has splinters fly past me. I had never noticed such detail in a game before.

The Shadows in Condemned, ok granted they are not realistic yet but they are dam smart.

The sweat in Table tennis

The 360 games are still in their infancy and right now I would agree there is not much of a step up from the Xbox in looks at the moment. However look at the details. This machine is doing a lot more than meets the eye.

I suspect the same will be said when the PS3 comes out. Even with a year extra development people will probably say "Meh, looks a bit better than the PS2"* but there will be other things happening.

*Fanboys will be shouting "Look this is 1000000000000000000 times better than the 360, PC and HD films put together" - and the game will look like MGS2

Are you playing it through HD?
If you go back to the Xbox you will be amazed by the improvement.
