Hi

I was wondering, what sort of drive can i use to go in my ps3? (slim model)

I was told it had to be a certain rpm

Is this true?

Is there any on the ocuk site i could use?

Cheap as possible

Doesnt matter what gig it is either.

Thanks in advance

:)

Cheapest one on OcUK site is this one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=14&subid=896&sortby=priceAsc £49.99

You can use any 2.5inch drive as long as it is 9.5mm or less in height (most drives will fit into this category). 5400rpm is the speed of all drives shipped with PS3 and if price is your main concern these are the cheapest anyway. Lots of people have used 7200RPM or even SSD drives but have found the speed differences not really great in proportion to the extra price.

HDD prices are higher than usual at present, due to Thailand floods last year. If you really want cheaper than that maybe go 2nd hand in the members market, or post a wanted thread in the Wanted forum. I am sure people have smaller capacity hard drives they can let you have for less than £50.
