PS3 resolution Q

Ok now I know that COD4 will upscale to 1080p if you untick 720p from the options list, so I have done this.

Now if I leave that off, what will happen when I play a game that runs at 720p? Will it downscale to 480p or upscale to 1080? Is there anyway I can stop this or am I goin to have to keep deselecting 720p for certain games?

A game will run at its highest resolution. Therefore if you have 1080p ticked and CoD4 supports it, then it will pick that won't it? Anything that doesn't support 1080p will stay at 720p.

Nope it runs at the recommended resolution which in COD4 case is 720p

I've done extensive googling and it looks like there is no solution, just have to hope it arrives in a firmware update

There isn't a solution at the minute. You'll just need to hang on with the annoyance until they update it i guess
