PS3 savegame problem

I bought a PS3 slim console to play games not on PC such as Uncharted 1,2,&3 plus Red dead1, the last of us etc.

Currently playing Uncharted 2 and the gameplay is excellent, I reached towards the end of the game at the start of the Monastery level and the last save seems corrupted and I can't continue, I kept overwriting saves when the slots were full so earlier ones are way back and can't face replaying it all again. Also the chapters I already played have gone from the list. and only chapter one is available.
I can see online that this is not uncommon with PS3, and you can download a save on to a USB which I did but cannot fathom how to upload it and overwrite my saves, can anyone give me a pointer as to how I access the USB I have inserted in the console etc?

Format your USB drive as FAT32 and then the files you download go into a folder like "PS3\SAVEDATA" at the root of the drive. Then you insert the drive on your PS3 and it should appear within the save game manager.

If you're not sure of the exact folder structure then copy one of your existing Uncharted saves from your PS3 to the USB drive and it will create it for you.

When downloading saves they are often region locked so you need to find one that matches the region of your disc.

Thanks for that, I have now found where the the USB is located and selected a save but it does not work, I think another problem is that saves I have found online are dated between 2009 or 2012 so presumably may not be patched the same as mine so I need the latest which was July 2010, or it's as you mention -a different region, I'll do some more searching and see if I can find a regional save that should have the last patch
